Receiver Colton Meikle reminded Kamloops fans what they are missing in a triumphant return to Hillside Stadium.

Meikle and fellow Westsyde Whundas grad Liam Connolly put on quite a show in front of the hometown crowd, leading the visiting Okanagan Sun to a 72-0 thrashing of the Broncos.

Connolly, pressed into service with quarterbacks Liam Kroeger and Marcus Christos out with injuries, threw six touchdown passes, four to Meikle in the second quarter in the blowout win.

Those came on four consecutive completions to Meikle of 56, two, 15 and seven yards.

Connolly also found Noah Borhot with touchdown strikes of 19 and 15 yards.

And, not to be left out, running back Jaxon Allan, returning to the lineup after missing one game with an injury, scored on runs of 15 and 57 yards.

Brock Sekulich capped off the scoring with his first BCFC touchdown, on a five yard scamper.

The Sun led 58-0 at the half and 65-0 after three quarters.

Saturday’s win improved the Sun to 34-0 lifetime over the Broncos franchise.

The win is the fifth in a row for the Sun who improve to 6-1 and remain a game behind the unbeaten Langley Rams who thumped the Valley Huskers 63-8 Saturday.

The Sun and Rams meet in a first place showdown next Saturday afternoon at the Apple Bow
