SUN LOOK FOR 4th STRAIGHT WIN IN TILT WITH V.I. RAIDERS AT APPLE BOWL

GAME SIX PREVIEW – RAIDERS (3-2) vs SUN (4-1)

It’s only week 7 of the BCFC season but for the Okanagan Sun it’s another pivotal game and must win scenario when they host the visiting Vancouver Island Raiders Saturday night at the Apple Bowl.

The 4 and 1 Sun are currently two points behind league leading Langley Rams at 5 and 0 and need to keep pace with the front runners to keep any hopes of securing home field advantage come playoff time.

This game marks the second meeting of the season for these clubs, the Sun opening the 2026 campaign on the road in Nanaimo back on July 18th where they picked up a 45-17 win over the Raiders.

Sun first year running back Jaxon Allan earned his first BCFC Player of the Week honours for his 4-touchdown performance, 3 along the ground and 1 TD reception.

Another first-year player, receiver Devontae Mozee, also had an impressive debut with 6 catches for 128 yds and 1 TD.

The Sun were not the only team that day with new faces in the line-up.  The Raiders quarterback Dylan Moreno, in his first league start, was 12 of 25 for 204 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT.  One of his favorite targets on the day was receiver Morgan MacCubbin who picked up 104 yds receiving on 3 catches and 1 TD.

Defensively the Sun will need to be on their game to contain the fleet-footed Moreno who has shown some speed once outside the pocket.  In last weeks game against the Rams, Moreno carried the ball 7 times for 50 yds and 1 TD.

Quarterback Liam Kroeger will need four solid quarters of mistake free football for another notch in the win column.  Last week against Westshore Rebels he went 14 of 26 for 277 yds and 3 TDs, he also carried the ball 7 times for 66 yds and 1 TD.

Kroeger hit receivers Mozee 4 times for 78 yds and 1 TD, Tyler Craver twice for 89 yds and 1 TD and Noah Borhot 3 times for 29 yds and 1 TD.

The Sun received two BCFC Player of the Week honours, Kroeger picking up his first Offensive POW award and for Special Teams it was K/P Grady Hay with this third award of the season.

Next Home Game – Saturday September 12th vs Langley Rams – 4:00 PM kick-off.  This is the annual Terry Britton Burn Fund Game.
