It took half a quarter to work off a little early season rust but once the Sun found the right gear there was no stopping the Okanagan machine as they rolled up 400 offensive yards in a 39 – 0 win over the hometown Langley Rams.
In familiar Sun fashion, they pounded the ball along the ground on the shoulders of the clubs new acquisition RB Gerren Hardisty, who returns to the BCFC after a year at York University and two seasons with rival Westshore Rebels.

The Sun enjoyed a 23 – 0 half time lead thanks to a 2 nd quarter fumble recovery by DL Jarveon Williams who scooped up a loose Ram ball and rambled 55 yards for the touchdown.
QB Liam Kroeger with a goal line plunge in the 3 rd quarter and a 43 yard TD reception by rookie WR Chase Scrivener in the 4 th , closed out Sun scoring giving the visitors the road victory to open the season.
Kroeger finished the game with 16 completions on 24 attempts for 260 yards, his favorite target of the day was WR Jordayne Falconer who hauled in 5 passes for 144 yards.
QB Marcus Christos came on in the 4 th quarter, and was 1 for 3 with the TD strike to Scrivener.
Defensively, honourable mentions go to first year LB Phil Palmarin who led his teammates with 4 solo tackles, 1 assisted tackle and 1 special teams assist. Also bringing the defensive heat was first year LB Benson Gruninger who collected 2 tackles, 2 assists, one special teams tackle, and 2 QB sacks.
