Jeff Halvorson

Jeff left us all too soon............but what a mark he made!

JJeff Halvorson joined the Sun in 2003.  During his brief year and a half stay, he made a mark as perhaps the best at his position in the club's 24 year history.  His incredible speed, ability to see the field while he ran, and his commitment to the game was unparalleled.  In short, he dazzled everyone who watched him play.

Jeff was the consumate team player and was truly loved by his teammates and coaches.  His dedication to the game made him a leader on and off the field.  Special team's coach Derrick Malinchuk said only weeks before his death, "Jeff inspires the coaches.  We are supposed to do that for the players, not the other way around."

Jeff left behind two beautiful women, his wife Leah and daughter Cheyne.  Leah gave birth to their second child, son Gavin, 3 months after Jeff's passing. Jeff's parents Don & Wendy, brother Jason, and sisters Jennifer and Janine will along with Leah help their children learn all about their dad....

The Okanagan Sun was touched by Jeff Halvorson.  Both because of his amazing skill on the field, but also because of the amazing person he was off it. We will never forget him.
