The Okanagan Sun Family in conjunction with the BC Football Conference are proud to announce Layne Hull has been named the BC Conference Most Outstanding Defensive Player of the Year.

In his fourth and final year of junior football Hull was simply outstanding as a captain of one of the defences in the country and a third straight appearance in the BC Conference Cullen Cup championship game.

The Willowbrook Saskatchewan native collected 30 tackles, 10 assisted tackles, 3 sacks, 3 knockdowns, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery and 1 interception.

Hull becomes the second straight Sun player to win this honour after Brennan Van Nistelrooy won last year.  Since 1982 Hull becomes the eighth player in Sun history to be honoured with the Conference’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player award.

Saturday afternoon Hull and the rest of the Sun invade Westshore to battle the Rebels in the Cullen Cup championship game.  The winner will host the 2016 CJFL Canadian Bowl, a game that Sun have not hosted since 2000.
