A 34 yard field goal from Kealey Heintz in overtime propels the Sun into the BC Conference Cullen Cup championship game with 26-23 victory over the Langley Rams.

In the overtime session the Rams first drive stalled, ending in a fake field goal attempt from 49 yards.

The Sun then used two Kasey Russell runs to set up Heintz, who kicked it right down the middle from 34 yards out, his fourth field goal of the day.

Offensively the Sun collected 163 yards through the air and 79 on the ground.  Foster Martens finished 6 of 13 for 63 yards while Keith Zyla was 4 of 11 for 100 yards, including a 75 yard touchdown bomb to Shamar Donelson.

The only other major the Sun would score came off an eight yard run from Lliam Wishart.

Henitz meanwhile was 4-4 in field goal attempts, scoring 14 of the Sun 26 points.

The Sun will now try to defend their BC Conference Cullen Cup title in Westshore on Saturday October 29 against the Rebels.  The Sun are 10-1 against the Rebels all-time in the playoffs and 3-1 in Cullen Cup games.

Kick-off on October 29 is set for 7:00pm.
