The Sun clinch a home playoff date with 44-24 win

The Okanagan Sun offence came alive on Sunday blasting the Langley Rams 44-24.

Quarterback Foster Martens played one of his best games of his junior career finishing 12 of 17 for 269 yards and threw three touchdown passes.  He hit Lliam Wishart twice from 11 yards and 49 yards out.  He also connected with Rashaun Simonise for his first CJFL touchdown.

Keith Zyla was also terrific at quarterback, finishing 6 of 9 for 106 yards and found Layne Hull and Shamar Donelson for touchdown passes.

In all the Sun tallied 375 yards through the air and 143 yards on the ground including Kelton Kouri’s first CJFL touchdown.

The defence was outstanding, holding the Rams offence to 109 yards on the ground and 333 yards through the air.  Most of their yards came in the fourth quarter when the Sun has a 20 point lead.

With the win the Sun will now host the Rams in a BC Conference semi-final on Sunday October 16.  The winner will face the Westshore Rebels or VI Raiders who will play in the other semi on October 15.
