The newest member of the Sun joined the club on Tuesday as defensive back Zac Newman took part in his first practice.

He was a member of the University of Saskatchewan Huskies earlier this year, but decided to make a change in his football life.

Newman will practice this week with his new teammates and is expected to play this weekend on the Island when the Sun (6-2) travel Nanaimo for a date with the Raiders (3-4-1).
