The Sun fall 58-2 to the defending champs

It was a history making game in Kelowna, but not one the Okanagan Sun want documented falling to the Saskatoon Hilltops 58-2.

The Hilltops jumped out to a 14 point lead after three minutes on a Logan Fischer nine yard touchdown run and a 19 yard touchdown pass to Sam Mike and the Sun didn’t recover.

The only points the Sun managed was a conceded Hilltops safety in the first quarter.

The Sun offence was held to 111 yards on the ground and quarterback Keith Zyla was five of 15 for 60 yards.

On the other side the Hilltops offence benefitted from a number of Sun miscues.  Quarterback Jared Andreychuk was 9-13 for 158 yards and threw four touchdown passes.  Fischer finished with 105 yards on 13 carries and scored a pair of touchdowns.

The Sun (6-2) will now prepare for a road trip to face the VI Raiders on Saturday afternoon at 2:00pm.
