The Sun have won back to back games coming off the Labour Day bye over the last two seasons, both at the Apple Bowl.

Since the BCFC created the Labour Day bye weekend in 2009, the Sun are 4-3 and have outscored their opponents 201-112.

Following this year’s bye weekend the Sun (6-0) face the Westshore Rebels (5-1) in a first place showdown on Saturday night in Victoria at Westhills Stadium.  The only set back the Rebels have had this season was in Week 3 at the Apple Bowl when the Sun beat them 27-21.

These two teams have met once after a bye week and the Rebels came into Kelowna and handed the Sun a 27-24 loss.  That night, the Sun turned the ball over five times

Since 2009, the game results following the Labour Day bye are:

2015 - vs. Vancouver Island Raiders- 28-7 WIN
2014 - vs. Langley Rams - 31-10 WIN
2013 - @ Vancouver Island Raiders – 45-17 LOSS
2012 – vs. Victoria Rebels – 27-24 LOSS
2011 – vs. Chilliwack Huskers – 42-7 WIN
2010 – vs. Chilliwack Huskers – 48-0 WIN
2009 - @ Vancouver Island Raiders – 16-11 LOSS

The last time the Sun made a stop in Westshore was last season and scored 51 points on route to a 41 point win. Saturday’s game will be much closer. All-time the Sun have a 45-6-2 record against the Rebels.

Ryan Watters (@ryan2tswatters) will have the play by play on Saturday night starting with the Kick-Off Show at 6:30pm.
