The Sun beat the Rams 15-10

It wasn’t pretty but the Okanagan Sun waited to play their best in the fourth quarter coming back to beat the Langley Rams 15-10 on Saturday night.

After a 20 minute delay when the lights at McLeod Stadium went out, Keith Zyla led the offence down the field and finished a touchdown drive running it in from 23 yards out to give the Sun the lead for good.

The only other touchdown the Sun scored was Jamie Turek recovering a punt return fumble in the end zone which gave the Sun a 7-0 lead.

The defence was simply outstanding.  Tye Kitzman intercepted two passes including one late in the fourth quarter to secure the win.  Layne Hull turned the momentum with a huge hit on Rams running back Joe Carter which seemed to spark both sides of the ball.

The Sun enter the bye week in sole possession of first place at 6-0 and have won 24 straight regular season games. The Rams fall to 4-2.

Following the bye, the Sun will travel to Westshore to face the 5-1 Rebels on September 10th.
