After the graduation of six important receivers the new Sun coaching staff will be looking for players to step up in main camp and show they are going to be the “go-to guy” with the game on the line.

The 12 players scheduled to be in camp all have the ability to etch their name beside some of the brightest receivers in team history.

Lliam Wishart

The Kamloops native enters his third season with the club and has all the tools to be one of best in the CJFL this season.  At 6’2 and over 185 pounds the Valleyview Secondary grad has good hands and has outstanding breakaway speed.  An injury slowed him last year, but as main camp starts this weekend, he is 100%.

Pierre-Luc Lord

As he enters his fourth and final season as a 22 year old he will be looked upon to be one of the play makers in 2016.  The Salmon Arm native will have the opportunity to shine and continue to find the endzone.  Last year he caught 13 passes, three of them for touchdowns.

Sharmar Donelson

He’s back for his second season with the Sun and is healthy.   The explosive receiver/returner (pictured) was missed in the Canadian Bowl last season following a lower body injury.  The Regina native will have an opportunity this season to show off his many talents with a crop of younger receivers.

Kyler Mosely

This could be the season the Richmond native makes a name for himself.  He’s been patient and a “team player” watching the likes of Kyle Patchell and Kyle Kawamoto have success.  Now entering his third year at 5’10, 195 pounds, he is ready to step into the spotlight under the lights at the Apple Bowl.

Kian Ishani

After a season playing at Mount Allison of the CIS, the Nova Scotia native has come west to find a new football life in the CJFL.  He’s a very strong and quick slotback that has the ability to become an immediate impact player with the Sun.

Nathanael Anderson

The coaching staff was very excited to sign him on National Signing Day.  He played last season at Cooper Hills high school in West Jordan, Utah and was star.  Like Ishani, Anderson has all the tools to make an immediate impact.

Liam Crane

The Winnipeg native was on the extended roster last season but didn’t see any live action.  He’ll enter his second season with the club at the age of 21 and is ready to compete for a roster spot.

Zac Kronbauer

At the ripe age of 18 last season the Vernon Senior Secondary product was on the extended roster but didn’t see any playing time.  He’s a speedy receiver that has worked hard in the offseason in anticipation to compete for a full time roster spot.

Jesse Falconer

He was a part of the Sun extended roster last season but didn’t see any live action.  The Grand Prairie Alberta native is a big target for quarterbacks at 6’7 and he’s worked hard to bulk up in preparation for main camp this weekend.  At 20 years old this season Falconer could be an outstanding addition to the fulltime roster.

Adam DiBiase

The KSS Owl grad led his club with 15 receptions last season for 333 yards and two touchdowns.    He showed his strength and force in the backfield as well carrying 13 times for 48 yards and scored three majors.  As a defender he showed his athleticism making 11 tackles.

Ty Truong

He comes to Sun main camp as a receiver, but he was a threat in the backfield for the Mt Boucherie Bears last season.  He led his club with 42 carries for 302 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns in the six games he played in.  He caught 19 passes for 166 yards and had a score as well.  Defensively he played at linebacker and made 10 tackles.

Spencer Schmidt

He was Truong’s teammate at Mt Boucherie last year.  He led all Bears with 23 receptions for 520 yards and five majors averaging 22.6 yards a reception. As a safety, Schmidt showed why the Sun coaching staff was excited to sign him making 30 tackles and intercepting two passes.
