Last season one of the strengths of the Sun offence was the offensive line with the likes of Cliff Crews and Josh Troman supplying the veteran leadership.

Here in 2016 those two players have graduated and passed the torch to the next generation which will be a great mix of returning players and new faces.

Certainly the leadership on the line will be sound with four major pieces returning.

Michele Vecchio

He will be asked to lead even more than he has been the last couple of seasons.  Last year he was named a Conference All-Star for the second straight season and attend the BC Lions Rookie Camp.  He’ll be another rock on the line at 6’1, 290 pounds.

Jeremy Williams

He joined the Sun last year out of Winnipeg and made a huge difference up front.  Now after a year of tutelage from offensive line coach Ray Wheatley, Williams is ready to become a complete player and will be a pillar of strength at 6’2, 315 pounds.

Chase Quewezance

The Saskatchewan native started to see more playing time towards the end of the season due to his improvement throughout the campaign.  Now entering his third season the 6’5, 255 pounder is ready to become a full time starter.

Cole Bertram

He continues to improve and is poised to take a starting role on the offensive line at 6’3, 310 pounds.  The Mount Boucherie grad continues to work on his strength and footwork and should be a force heading into Main Camp.

Nick Johnson

The former KSS Owl was on the Sun extended roster last season and will look to improve and win a roster spot this season.

Matt Robinson

At 6’4, 275 pounds the RSS grad practiced with the Sun last season and will compete for a full fledge roster spot this year.

Bradyn Marchesi

Like Johnson and Robinson, Marchesi was on the Sun extended roster last season.  The Sylvan Lake Alberta native has been working hard in the weight room at 6’0, 250 pounds and is set to show the coaching staff he’s ready to take a full time roster spot.

Liam Hamlyn

He was part of the Foothills Falcons team that won the Tier 2 Alberta Provincial title this past season.  He was a key cog in an offence that took flight in the playoffs on route to the championship.

Jamie Fortune

He is a former goalie coming off his first year in football at 6’5, 270 pounds.  A pure athlete the Sun coaching staff is hoping he can transition to the speed of the junior game.

Justin MacLennan

From Maple Ridge and Samuel Robertson Technical Secondary, he will give the Sun depth on the offensive line as he learns the speed of junior football.

Keenan Berg

He enters his first season of junior football after graduating from the KSS Owls program with Ben Macauley.  Last season he helped block for the BC High School Football Offensive Most Valuable Player of the Year Parker Simson.

Alex Hemmett

The RSS grad will give the Sun more local flavor as he competes to earn a roster spot right out of high school.
