For the sixth straight year the Scotiabank Group and the Sun partner

The Scotiabank Group has once again added to the Okanagan Sun Scholarship fund with a significant cheque presentation of $11,540.

This is the sixth year Scotiabank and the Sun have partnered for the annual Scholarship dinner.   Along with the ticket sales, Scotiabank sells balloons at the dinner, then matches the sales with a contribution of their own.

The money from Scotiabank is a combination from their retail, commercial banking and wealth management teams that come together for the support.  The partnership fits nicely for Scotiabank as the Sun are focusing on academics along with athletics in colleges, universities and trades.

Both Cary Lehmberg and John Guidolin (in the photo) of Scotiabank played football and understand the challenges of finances, school work, job, life and a football schedule.  Lehmberg played for SFU while Guidolin played for the Renfrew Trojans of the BCFC.

Sun General Manager Jay Christensen was on hand for the cheque presentation and was extremely excited about the continued partnership between the team and Scotiabank.

Well over 100 players have benefitted over the past six year from the Sun Scholarship Fund.
