He's the last head coach to win a BCFC Cullen Cup

For the second straight year the Cullen Cup title game will be held at the Apple Bowl.  The BCFC crown has not resided in Kelowna since the 2004 season.  That year Usher’s “Yeah” was #1 on the music charts, Shrek 2 was the biggest movie at the box office, the Toronto Argonauts won the Grey Cup and the New England Patriots won the Super Bowl.

In 2004 the Sun beat the Victoria Rebels 24-15 on route to the Canadian Bowl in Edmonton.   That day the Sun rushed for 230 yards, but passed for just 81.  James Green and Dave Simpson each recorded rushing touchdowns.

The head coach that year was Jay Christensen who talks with Ryan Watters about that game, that season with the passing of Jeff Halvorson and compares that team to the 2015 edition who will host the game on Sunday.
