They were the most dominating defence during the regular season and now four players have been honoured in five BCFC Defensive All-Star positions.

The defensive line was one of the scariest in the regular season led by Jonas Gering who is a unanimous All-Star selection.  He set a new team single season record with 13 sacks, one more than Steven Doege’s 12.  Gering also posted 16 tackles, 3 assists, 4 knockdowns and 2 forced fumbles.

Defensive back Brennan Van Nistelrooy has been honoured twice by the BCFC.  First, for his work done in the secondary, he made 18 tackles, 4 assists, 2 blocked kicks, 2 knockdowns, 1 fumble recovery and a CJFL leading 6 interceptions.  Van Nistelrooy is also named the All-Star punter.  He made 47 punts, netting 1,587 yards, a net average of 33.7 yards a kick and collected 4 singles.

Defensive back Cord Delinte also receives an All-Star nod for the first time in his career.  The Pincher Creek native finished with a team high 26 tackles, 3 assists, 5 knockdowns and a 1 interception.

A third defensive back was also named, Matt McConnell had a great year with 22 tackles, 2 assisted tackles, 2 knockdowns, 1 fumble recovery for a touchdown and a 1 interception.
