For the 20th time the Okanagan Sun will face the Kamloops Broncos today at the Apple Bowl at 1:00pm in the #CJFLRivalry Week.

The Sun enter today’s game following a dominating defensive win over the VI Raiders last week, recording a record setting 13 sacks.  The Broncos on the other hand had their high powered offence held in check in Langley falling 41-13 to the Rams.

These two clubs have the top two highest scoring offences in the BCFC, the Sun (347) and the Broncos (264) have combined to score 611 points, that’s more than the other four teams combined. Both the Sun and Broncos have outstanding receivers, the Broncos have two main targets in Derek Yachison and Devin Csincsa who have made 93 receptions and tallied 1547 yards with 16 touchdowns.  The Sun have been fortunate to spread the ball around to receivers like Kyle Kawamoto, Kyle Patchell, Thomas Huber, Pierre-Luc Lord and Kamloops native Lliam Wishart.

There is no real secret to the Broncos offence, they like to throw.  Quarterback Steve Schuweiler has completed Conference highs of 130 passes for 1984 yards and thrown 18 touchdowns.  To put that into perceptive, Sun pivots Cam Bedore and Josiah Joseph have combined for 113 completions.

Despite Schuweiler’s great numbers, he is yet to face the CJFL’s top defences, and one of the best secondary’s in Sun history.
