Brennan Van Nistelrooy has been named the BCFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
Sunday afternoon a new team record was set as Van Nistelrooy blocked a punt in the third quarter which defected into the end zone. JP Kalambay jumped on it for his first career touchdown.
It was Van Nistelrooy’s fifth career block setting a new team record for career blocks. He surpasses Doug Hartl (1997-2001) and Robbie Yochim (2010-2014).

The Sun also established a new CJFL / BCFC record for the most safety touches in a season with the three they recorded on Sunday. They now have 10 which broke the old record of 8 and with four games left in the regular season.
This weekend the Sun and the BCFC enjoy a Labour Day bye week, but will prepare for a home date with the VI Raiders on Sunday September 13th at 1:00pm at the Apple Bowl.
