New team and Conference records were set in Week 2 after the 64-0 victory of the Valley Huskers on Saturday night.

The four safeties recorded in the game set a new BC Football Conference record for most safety touches in a game.  The old mark was three held by the Sun, VI Raiders, Langley Rams and Vancouver Trojans.

The 64 points on Saturday combined with the 78 points scored in Week 1 set a new BCFC mark for most points scored in the first two games of a regular season.  The 142 points easily surpasses the old record of 123 scored by the 1992 Sun and 2009 Raiders.

The shutout victory on Saturday is the club’s 51st in franchise history through 324 games played.  The Sun are now five behind the BCFC All-Time leader Vancouver Meralomas who tallied 56 shutouts in 332 games played.

Saturday afternoon the Sun stay on the road and face the Vancouver Island Raiders in Nanaimo at 4:00pm.  The next home game is set for Saturday August 15 against the Langley Rams in a rematch of last season’s BCFC title game.  Tickets are available HERE.
