This weekend the Okanagan Sun open spring camp, minus one offensive lineman.

After a stellar BC Lions evaluation camp in April, Michele Vecchio has been invited to “First Year Lions Camp beginning Thursday at Hillside Stadium in Kamloops.

It’s the first chance for Vecchio to wear Lions colours.  At only 20 years of ago, Vecchio gets an opportunity to show the Lions coaching staff where he is with his development before reporting back the Sun for this third season.

Since joining the Sun after graduating from Rutland Senior Secondary, the Sun are 17-3 and 1-2 in the post season in Vecchio in the lineup.

Vecchio will join Sun alum Steven Doege this weekend in Kamloops.
Two other BCFC players will be at Lions camp as well, Kamloops Broncos receiver Derek Yachison and Langley Rams offensive lineman Anthony Daley.

The Sun open spring camp on Friday at the Apple Bowl.
