Drew Digout will play for Team West

Former Sun offensive lineman Drew Digout has been named to the 13th Annual CIS East-West Bowl taking place on Saturday May 9 at McGill University.

Digout played for the Sun in 2010 and 2011 when the club compiled a 17-3 regular season record.  The Saskatchewan native was part of the Cullen Cup team in 2010 when the Sun lost a heartbreaker at the Apple Bowl 16-14.

He was named a BCFC All-Star in both seasons and a CJFL All-Canadian in 2010

Since leaving the Sun to pursue an opportunity at the CIS level, Digout has been playing with the University of Saskatchewan, in his hometown of Saskatoon for the past three seasons.  In his first year (2012) Digout was named a CIS Academic All-Canadian.

The East West Bowl showcases – for the most part - CIS players who will be eligible for the following year’s CFL draft.

McGill will host the event for the first time, taking over from Western University, which hosted the last six editions in London. The all-star showcase has also been held at McMaster (2008), Laval (2007, 2006) and Wilfrid Laurier (2005, 2004, 2003).

The game has never been hosted in the West.

The Sun will open the 2015 Spring Camp on May 29th at the Apple Bowl.
