On the heels of safety Dexter Janke getting invited to the CFL Regional Combine in Edmonton, another former safety also received an invitation.  Jack Rush who spent the 2012 and 2013 season has been invited to attend the CFL Regional Combine in Toronto on March 26, 2015.

Rush was simply outstanding for the Sun over his two seasons.  He collected 56 solo tackles, 19 assisted tackles, 6 knockdowns, 1 blocked kick, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery and 6 interceptions including one for a touchdown.

He was the true anchor of the defence, especially in the 2013 season leading the Sun to a berth in the playoffs.

This past season and after graduating for the Sun program, Rush played a season with the Hamilton Hurricanes in the Ontario Football Conference.  He made 29 solo tackles, 8 assisted tackles, had a sack and a pair of knockdowns.

Head Coach Shane Beatty said “This young man was a pleasure to coach.  A true competitor and throw back! Love ya!”

Here is an excerpt from the letter Rush received:

"Dear Jack,

The Canadian Football League is inviting select Draft eligible players and the top 5th year CIS and CJFL players to attend an exclusive Regional Combine in their part of the country.

Due to an interest from our CFL teams, you have been selected to attend the Regional Combine in Toronto on Thursday March 26, 2015."

Rush will be joined by former teammate Brandon Donkers in Toronto as both players are hoping to impressive scouts and win an invitation to the main CFL Combine, also in Toronto.

Good luck Jack!
