The Grass Effect for Sunday

When teams prepare for their opponent, they go over schemes, systems and how they are going to attack in certain situations.

The surface of the field rarely comes into consideration, but this Sunday the Kentucky Blue Grass at the Apple Bowl may turn into a factor.  The Sun will host the Langley Rams in the Cullen Cup championship game at 1:00pm.  The Sun are 8-0 on natural grass this season, while the Rams are 0-3 including two losses in Kelowna.

To make matters worse for the Rams, Sunday’s forecast is calling for clouds and potentially rain, which might make the field a little sloppier.  However the City of Kelowna crews will have the Apple Bowl game and championship ready as they have for two Canadian Bowls and 17 Cullen Cups …
