The BCFC have announced the Players of the Week and it’s a clean Sun sweep after the 37-20 victory over the Langley Rams.

Offensive Player of the Week
Running back - #34 Alex Bradley

The  Sun primarily used their potent run game to win their seventh straight in Week 10.  The ground attack was led by the “BC Lions Offensive Player of the Week,” running back Alex Bradley.  The Edmonton product collected over half of the yards the Sun would gain on 20 carries.  He rushed for 154 yards including a 50 yard touchdown scamper.   It’s the first time this season Bradley has won this award.

Defensive Player of the Week
Linebacker - #4 Ron Mwamba

The Sun defense showed why they are one of the most feared in the entire Canadian Junior Football League creating 10 turnovers.  The “BC Lions Defensive Player of the Week” is linebacker Ron Mwamba who led the Sun with a fumble recovery, an interception, six solo tackles, three assists and a knockdown.  It’s the first time the Edmonton native has won this award.

Special Teams Player of the Week
Returner - #15 Robbie Yochim

For the second consecutive week returner Robbie Yochim has been named the “BC Lions Special Teams Player of the Week.”  After setting a new CJFL record with three punt returns for touchdowns last week, Yochim’s encore was returning two kick-offs for touchdowns, tying a BCFC record.  In all, the Kelowna native returned four kick-offs for 264 yards, a new team record and second all-time in BCFC history.

Sunday afternoon the Kamloops Broncos (6-3) visit the Apple Bowl at 1:00pm in the regular season finale.
