As the Sun open the 2014 season on Saturday in Chilliwack, it’ll be a homecoming of sorts for one player. 

Second year defensive back Matt McConnell is the only Sun player from Chilliwack.  Last season in three games against his friends McConnell made five tackles and intercepted a pass.

He played at the midget level with the Chilliwack Giants and will play at Exhibition Stadium for the first time as a member of the Sun on Saturday night. The Stadium was under field renovations in 2013 during the only visit by the Sun.
