The Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) is pleased to announce the 2014 Canadian Bowl will be hosted by the BC Football Conference (BCFC) on Saturday November 8.  The last time the Canadian Bowl was in BC, the game was held in Langley and saw the Saskatoon Hilltops defeat the Langley Rams 23-21 in 2012.

The winner of the BCFC will host the winner of the Prairie Football Conference (PFC) in the national championship.

With this announcement, the level of excitement for the 2014 season grows.  BCFC and PFC teams will be hosting their spring camps over the next few weeks.

The CJFL National Signing Day (#cjflsigning) is scheduled for Sunday June 1, 2014.  This is the date in which CJFL teams can officially sign players to their 2014 rosters.

“We are extremely excited about the upcoming season,” said CJFL Commissioner Jim Pankovich.  “I’m looking forward to seeing how each team unfolds following their spring camp, with the lead up to the National Signing Day on June 1st.  The decision to hold the 2014 Canadian Bowl back in BC is also very exciting news, as in 2012 in Langley we had one of our most entertaining National Championship games in our history.  I have a feeling this will be a very competitive year.”

The BCFC will begin their 10 week regular season schedule on July 26 with all six teams in action; while the PFC will be kick-off their eight week regular season schedule on August 16.

The Ontario Football Conference (OFC) will officially increase the age of their allowable players from 22 to 24 effective immediately.  The CJFL voted to keep the OFC on as an Affiliate Member, but will be excluded from nationally recognized games such as the Jostens Cup National Semi-Final and the Canadian Bowl.
