MISSION STATEMENT: To provide a comprehensive athletic program that emphasizes the development of lifelong values and skills. The foundation of the program will be hard work, sportsmanship and service to the community. All Okanagan Sun players will be held accountable for being an exemplary model on the field, and in the community.
CORE VALUES: The core values combined with hard work, dedication and commitment can provide a solid foundation for the players throughout the football season and will benefit the players beyond their junior career and throughout their lives.

COMMITMENT/PERSEVERENCE – To common goals and to being successful
For every group endeavor, each individual bears responsibility and plays a critical role in reaching the common goal. Commitment is about making significant effort to the tasks entrusted to you that further the common good. Hard work and persistence is the trademark of a successful program.
HUMILITY- The willingness to learn, in order to be a great athlete
A bad attitude is evidence of a lack of humility. Being teachable will ensure that whatever truth will be received in order to improve. It is the student of football who will learn how to reach their greatest potential.
UNITY/WHOLENESS – Giving more to others than you take, and coming together as never before.
This means each individual must put the needs of the team above themselves, everyone has a role and no one roll is greater than another. Your teammates are your family.
TRUST/INTEGRITY – Courage is the ultimate expression of integrity by taking selfless risks for the good of others. Courage is not the absence of fear; it is the absence of self.
We strive for high moral character, honor, respect and honesty in all our actions, realizing the strength of a community is based on the integrity of its members. Courage moves us to risk for others, for a greater cause.
SERVICE/GENEROSITY- Few investments in life are as important as giving of our time. Generosity and serving create an environment of health and creates strength in the community.
The Okanagan Sun organization serves as role models and leaders connecting to the local community through acts of service. Community service opportunities will be provided throughout the season to create and foster life enhancing reciprocal relationships to create strong and meaningful community.
RESPECT/WISDOM- Wisdom begins at connecting the dots between the quality of our decisions and the quality of our lives. The decisions you make today create the future you will live tomorrow.
Okanagan Sun players must respect themselves, their teammates and their community. Respect yourself and your body to gain respect from others. This includes avoiding drugs, abusing alcohol, and not engaging in behaviors that diminishes you or your teams reputation.
EXCELLENCE- Excellence is not an act, but a habit, lived out every day as a player and person.
Okanagan Sun players should strive for excellence in everything they do both on and off the field. A clear devotion to the Core Values will be the key to this end. By combining the competitive spirit and sportsmanship we develop as teammates, our goal is to win and excel at the highest level while acting and competing in a way that reflects our core values.
Okanagan Sun players benefit from a rich and living tradition forged by all the efforts of all those who have come before us. Our personal and team successes add to the growing pride we share with Okanagan Sun community. Through leadership, determination and commitment we build on the Okanagan Sun tradition and instill pride in Okanagan Sun Athletics that remain throughout a lifetime.
