Kelowna, BC: After a 3-7 fourth place finish this season the Okanagan Sun celebrated their individual accomplishments last night at the year-end team awards banquet at the Coast Capri Hotel. The following are the Sun award winners:
Scoring Leader – Bobby Davis (slot back) – 7 touchdowns (3 receiving, 4 running)
Most Inspirational Player – Jack Rush (safety) – 22 tackles, nine assists, two interceptions
Co-Most Improved Player – Jesse Kendall (Receiver) – 14 catches, 385 yards and two touchdowns. Shledon MacDonald (linebacker)-33 tackles, 7 assists, 1 forced fumble, i interception for a TD, 2 blocked kicks
Okanagan Minor Football Grad Award – Landon King (defensive back) – 12 tackles, two assists, one fumble recovery
Most Popular Player (voted by the players) – Bobby Davis – 29 catches, 498 yards, three touchdowns
Most Sportsmanlike Player – Ben White (Receiver) – 17 catches, 323 yards and four touchdowns
Special Teams Player – Robbie Yochim (Kick Returner) – 43 returns, 608 yards, one touchdown
Top Defensive Back – Blake Butler – nine tackles, five interceptions, one touchdown
Top Linebacker – Brandon Donkers – 19 tackles, 11 assists and half a sack
Top Offensive Back – Alex Bradley (Running back) – 49 carries for 406 yards, four touchdowns
Top Receiver – Tommy Howes (Receiver) – 31 catches, 513 yards, four touchdowns
Top Defensive Lineman – Steven Doege – 33 tackles, 12 sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries
Top Offensive Lineman – Jordan Pfeifer
Rookie of the Year – Cam Bedore (quarterback) – 117 of 239 for 2,005 yards and 14 touchdowns
Co-Most Valuable Players – Steven Doege (Defensive Lineman) -33 tackles, 12 sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries AND Bobby Davis (slot back) - 29 catches, 498 yards, three touchdowns, 13 rushes, 34 yards, four touchdowns
